OHSALC Legislative Information

NALC President William H. Young and Executive Vice President Jim Williams, speaking to legislative activists from five states the week of May 1,2003, said unprecedented grassroots support from letter carriers will be needed when postal reform heads to Congress later this year. Young also said that how lawmakers respond will determine whether the NALC supports them in the future.

"This union is not a one-party union. This union is a worker-friendly union."

"If they keep their hands off collective bargaining, guarantee universal service and help us adopt meaningful postal reform, they're with us, we're with them. That's our standard. It applies to everyone in all parties. There are no exceptions."

President William H. Young

"What this is all about is protecting your jobs and that means protecting your families."
